Two new Vampire Diaries posters: “Any chance their love had is dead” + “They both want her. Dead”

November is coming and The CW has some nice gifts for the Vampire Diaries loyal fans! Two new posters premiered last week – one of Stefan and Katherine and one of Stefan, Damon and Katherine. The reason we think it’s Katherine on the both posters is their taglines – “Any chance their love had is dead” and “They both want her. Dead.” First, we’re 99% sure any chance Stefan and Elena’s love had is so not dead. And as we already know, there are no chances of Elena turning into a vampire in the near future. Check out the images and head over to Vampire-Diaries.net for textless versions. Also, we’re dying to know what you think. Tell us in the comments!

David Anders possibly returning this season, Stefan and Damon team up

Jess: What’s ahead on The Vampire Diaries?
Don’t expect Damon and Stefan to become brothers of the BFF variety, but Ian Somerhalder tells us the two will be working together for time being. “There’s camaraderie because Damon and Stefan know that in order to protect themselves, Elena (Nina Dobrev) and the town from werewolves and Katherine, they have to set these differences aside. These two have had every opportunity to kill each other and they can’t do it. They love each other.” Isn’t it bromantic? – Watch With Kristin

I’m dying to know if we’ll see David Anders again on Vampire Diaries this season. —Addison

MICKEY: He did kind of disappear without much fanfare, right? The truth is that he might be gone now, but in the season-long struggle against Katherine, it’s going to be Elena’s closest relatives — blood and otherwise — who come to her rescue. And as any fan knows, that is one gnarly family tree. – TV Guide Magazine

Damon (Ian Somerhalder) tries a new tactic to resolve his issues with Mason, (guest star Taylor Kinney)…. but it proves costly. Tyler (Michael Trevino) pushes Mason to tell him the truth about the Lockwoods. Finally, when Katherine delivers an ultimatum, Stefan and Elena (Nina Dobrev) are left with very few options.

Sara Canning, Candice Accola, Zach Roerig and Matt Davis also star. Rob Hardy directed the episode written by Caroline Dries.

CW’s press release on The Return ratings

VAMPIRE DIARIES Delivers Its Best Women 18-34 Ratings since Feb.;

NIKITA delivered year-to-year gains, improving on the SUPERNATURAL debut last season by 12% in women 18-34 and 6% in total viewers.   NIKITA also built on its VAMPIRE DIARIES premiere lead-in by 9% in total viewers (3.6mil v. 3.3mil).

The second season opener of The CW’s sophomore hit THE VAMPIRE DIARIES scored its best women 18-34 (2.8/9) performance since 2/4/10.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES was virtually flat with its explosive season finale last May, in all key demographics.  VAMPIRE DIARIES retained a large chunk of its massive series premiere last year, keeping about 87% of its year ago adults 18-34 (1.9/6) and 90% of its year ago women 18-34 (2.8/9) delivery.

With debuts of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and NIKITA, The CW ranked second on Thursday night among women 18-34 (2.3/5), adults 18-34 (1.6/5), females 12-34 (2.2/7) and persons 12-34 (1.5/5).

Check the entire press release out over at KSiteTV.

Ratings for Vampire Diaries season 2 premiere revealed

Outside of the NFL universe, the CW’s Vampire Diaries second season premiere scored a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating (that’s down 24% from the series premiere last year). While the series premiere of Nikita drew a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating, that’s identical to Supernatural’s season premiere in that timeslot last season.

In the youth demos that the CW focuses on Vampire Diaries scored a 2.8 rating for women 18-34 down 7% from last year’s series premiere, and a 1.9 for adults 18-34 (down 14%). Nikita scored a 1.9 for women 18-34 (up 12% from last season’s Supernatural premiere) and a 1.3 for adults 18-34 (down 13% from Supernatural).

My guess is that the CW’s emotions are mixed. They have to be reasonably happy with the Nikita numbers, but they cannot be happy with the Vampire Diaries numbers.

BuddyTV’s John gives you 5 reasons to get excited for season 2

If you were at all worried about The Vampire Diaries having a sophomore slump, your fears can go away. I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at the season 2 premiere, “The Return,” and it is The Vampire Diaries at its best.

I’m not going to give away any major spoilers, and trust me, there are some big ones coming. Perhaps my favorite part of The Vampire Diaries is that every episode has major, game-changing events, and the season 2 premiere is no exception.

However, to get you excited before the premiere this Thursday at 8pm on the CW, here are five great things to look for.

Damon’s Moment of Realization

At the end of last season Damon kissed Katherine, though he thought he was kissing Elena. In the premiere Damon has a moment where he realizes that he fell victim to “doppelganger hijinks,” and the moment alone is worth the price of admission and proof that Ian Somerhalder is giving the performance of his career on this show.

Nina Dobrev as Katherine

I typically find Elena to be one of the more boring parts of The Vampire Diaries, but now that star Nina Dobrev gets to have some fun by playing Elena and Katherine, we get to see just how great she can be. Much like Somerhalder does with Damon, Dobrev sinks her teeth into the role of Katherine and makes me hope that she’ll be around for a long, long time.

Bad-Ass Bonnie

Towards the end of the first season Bonnie was becoming better and better as she expanded her witch powers, and now she’s definitely a formidable adversary for anyone she comes across, turning the token sidekick into someone not to be messed with.

What Damon Does

I can’t and won’t give away too much, but Damon does something at the end of the season 2 premiere that left me shocked. It’s certainly a great starting point for an interesting season and will have fans debating what he did and didn’t know.

“Game On”

You’ll know exactly what this means when you see the episode, but needless to say, the game is definitely on. These two simple words will have a very lasting effect for the rest of the season and will impact nearly every single character.

Overall, the season 2 premiere captures everything we loved about the first season of The Vampire Diaries. It’s fast-paced, sexy, a little inappropriately funny and truly shocking. Get ready for another amazing season that could be even better than the first.

UK’s ITV2 to broadcast Vampire Diaries season 2 alongside US premiere

ITV, the television company broadcasting Vampire Diaries in UK, made a press release a few days ago, mentioning the show. Hundreds of fans living in UK asked the same question: “When will ITV2 start broadcasting Vampire Diaries season 2?” Well, now they can give you an answer – or sort of.

Hit US dramas, Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl are back for new series, broadcast alongside their US premiere dates.

Also, they replied to a fan on Facebook with the words: “So close to being able to tell you the date when it starts…but I can’t!”. So keep checking their page, maybe they’ll mention something.

Thanks to @tvdfansonline for the heads up on this!
